It has the 'OK, biodegradable MARINE' certification by TUVAUSTRIA- a European certification body, certifying biodegradability in marine environments. So far, Bemberg™ has been certified as biodegradable in soil as well. The process of biodegradability or decomposition will take six weeks in the marine environment. You can speed up the process by cutting the fabric into small pieces.
